The boy is making his first team start tonight in the carrot cake cup or whatever it's called.

Talk about blue blood.
His pedigree puts us all to shame tbf..
The grandson of Mike Doyle and Glynn pardoe..

I really really hope that he lives up to the hype, as he is supposed to half decent.
I would love him to make it all the way and be a city player...

Amen to that Kimbo. My dad talks about watching Mick Doyle growing up in a way that borders on the homoerotic. The one thing we’re missing at the moment is someone can leave a bit on a player when required, and no one did it like his old man. /shrine

I do like that among our international superstars we have the likes of Doyle and Foden coming through the ranks. Tommy played decent enough too! This young kid Poveda looks outrageous too.

Wrong thread but I thought Angelino looked really good, despite being at fault for the goal albeit terribly mismatched for height.

Yep.. agree with Dan on Angelino..
He's a good player and make get a few games now zinc is out for a bit.
And I grew up with no so much the folklore of bell Lee and summerbe.
It was the folklore of Mike Doyle and his legendary hatred of all that is rag..

He hated United ..
And no one would argue with him about it either..

Ledg.... :bow-blue:

Watched Mike Doyle and Glyn Pardoe many times. As I remember Pardoe was the youngest ever City player at the time.
Alan Oakes, what a good player, was Pardoe’s cousin.
Discussion with another old fart in the pub the other day as to whether the 1968-9 team would beat today’s team. conclusion was that as the 68-9 team wouldn’t be able to catch the likes of Silas, Aguero ,Kdb etc the likes of Doyle Heslop etc would just kick lumps out of them
