All good questions Bert. You are right, our league games are very formulaic now, dominate possession and the opposition defend and hope to pull a draw or sneak one. In actual fact the games when teams have come at us is when we have struggled the most, par example: everton, newcastle. So we spend a great deal of time trying to break down resolute defending, and it's not easy.
As for watford, I feel for any time that goes down by the first goal, which I'd say was offside but the result was not in doubt.
As for number of games to be played, I think there is also a benefit in having a rock hard fit team, playing in 3 comps still can have benefits. Do teams get tired? Yes they can, but I'd rather be busy on 3 fronts than focused on one only.
Pep loves this shit, he can deflect media with the best of them. I believe both us and pool can drop points, it's gonna get very interesting. L'pool to leap above city only for us to win it on the last day of the season?
