Hey there. I understand your frustration, but the plain and simple fact is that no one gives a shit on how many titles Sporting have. This is a Man City forum. Even I, a Benfica fan, couldn't care less about how many ridiculous titles they have.
Yesterday I went to my girlfriend's house (near Sporting stadium), and everyone was wild near bus and metropolitan stations... like they won Champions League! This pretty much sums up the "grandiosity" of that wanna-be historical club.
Of course you don't. Sporting titles is a subject of Sporting, not yours. Who brought this subject here was a Benfica fan, possibly frustrated because he was hoping for a humiliation of Sporting by City.

But as everyone knows, football is by far the most important
sport, either financially or for the media, comparing football with other sports, compare and count trophies of Football, Athletics, Handball or other

I rest my case.
Dumbass, Sporting has more titles in Athletics alone than benfica in Football, Athletics and Handball together.

our domestic tv commentators repeatedly made the point that this game was the highlight of sporting's calendar. not far wrong apparently.
It was until yesterday. Now the highlight of Sporting's calendar will be next Liga Europa round. The thing is, Sporting is having a terrible season, last three, four months we lost all domestic competitions, our last manager was sacked. Before the first leg against City, we were defeated by Setubal, something like being defeated by Swansea. Everyone was expecting a heavy defeat, after all City is the team of millions, with a budget 7x or 8x times higher than ours.
City players said before the games that they don't knew Sporting, they don't knew our players, and were defeated by these "unknown" players. The thing is, just because City has world class, rich players, that doens't make a strong team. City players lacks humility and pride. Most of your players haven't won anything in world football, but they are acting like the world is theirs. Well, it is not.
We celebrated because we were the weakest side, against the so called "super team", and we won. We showed pride and we deserved this. Pride, something most of City players doesn't have.
As for people trying to put Sporting down, I don't want to compare things: we don't have money, we don't have world top players. What we have is pride in our history, we won dozens of european titles in many differents sports and I do not want to compare it with City or Benfica. We have history, we have pride in that, and you can try to put us down, you won't succeed in that. More than 100 years of history and thousands of sporting titles will not permit that.
Good luck for Premier League.
