yay!

i really have *no* idea what shoegaze is, still.

Either do I. When I used to go to Perth Royal Show, which over 4 days had approximately 110 punters through the door, there used to be a high ratio of hot slags wearing short skirts. My mates and I devised a scheme that if we had mirrors on our shoes we could see up their skirts while they were playing games etc. We never got round to it mind but thats what I imagine 'shoegaze' to be.

Early 90s Shoegaze Top Trumps score: 1/10

you get the 1 because it's very possible to do some spazzy shoegazing dancing to "Selected Ambient Works Vol 1".

that's a great album.

i couldn't give a monkeys toss what a few herberts on an internet forum think. If you actually think i do, then you're deluded. The band finished nearly 2 years back, and i've not missed it one bit, it was good to do at the time, but that time is over. A few of you herberts seem to think that by continually carping on about the band, you're somehow pissing me off. I couldn't give a shit to be honest, you carry on, if that's what turns you on....meanwhile i'll just carry on laughing inside.:approve:

good luck with trying to find that tricky fourth chord..

How many gigs have you played Bassy? Which venues? How big were the crowds? What other bands did you share a bill with? Did you release any of your music on vinyl, cassette, cd? What was your contribution to the songwriting in any of your bands? Did you ever sing lead vocals? Apart from bass, what instruments do you play?

Dude, you were a bass player, hierarchically you were one step below the roadie.

after reading wiki i know think i recognise what shoegaze was/is - bands with absolutely fuck all stage presence or showmanship.

we played about 20 gigs. Personally altogether with other bands i've played about 25 gigs.

One gig, we supported a band called Our Lunar Activities, the previous night they supported Snow Patrol.

I sang backing vocals on one track, played tambourine on one track, played a bit of keyboard on another.

If you extend that to "fuck all talent, fuck all songs and a dull, plodding indie bassline" you've got 5L(L) on a stick!
