As well as a different culture, don't they have a rule that the only people allowed to talk to the ref are the captain and the player involved in the incident? Simply yellow carding anyone who runs halfway across the pitch to shout at the ref would be a start, it's ridiculous when you see the ref surrounded by a whole team shouting in his face every time he makes a decision they don't like.
too soft. sending off and a three match ban. do the same for divers, even retrospectively, and ditch that stupid fucking rule about "if the ref dealt with it at the time, or decided not to take action, we can't revisit it" that seems to have gotten ronaldo off the hook for lashing out at oppo players three or four times this season, but which was used to ban swp for three games.
as it is, it's meant to be just the captain that discusses it. that seemed to go out the window after a couple games this season. they should have someone watching this stuff and speaking over the radio to refs, so that dives, petulant little slaps or kicks and goal line stuff can be reviewed and decisions made with utter confidence. something just saying "contact or no contact" and then leaving it to the ref to decide if the player went down avoiding a potentially crippling challenge, or if he did a swan dive over a dangling leg.
