Well, the poll states "Are you happy with signing Bellamy?" and 2 in 3 say yes.

And still not a very high approval rating, even when spun to suit your viewpoint.

I'm sure if we asked the same question about Bridge or De Jong the approval rating would be over 90%

so 2 in 3 are saying they'll get behind him as he is a city player, some reluctantly. whereas it should be who would be happier if we hadn't signed him in the first place rather than signing him.

maybe the poll should be who would rather have bellamy or to have not bought a striker this window.

cos i dont know what other strikers are available.

also bellamy will be able to play in uefa this season, which is a plus.

Maybe it would. But with bellamy i thought no-one would want him, yet 67% do, which surprises me completely.

Its all down to interpretation. Gallagheresque's comments I wasn't but i'm going to have to live with it i susppose sum up how I feel, but he voted yes and I voted no. It was a good thread and threw up some interesting debate, but the results of the poll are meaningless.

Yep, and I voted no too. Happy is certainly not the word I would use.

No, 67% don't want him. 67% will support him now he is here. That doesn't mean he was wanted in the first instance. Come on Bassman, you're not this thick.

I'm glad we have signed him, why are you saying i dont want him? He's not my first choice, but he's better than what we have or what is available.

Oh FFS.

Ok, not all of those 67% wanted him, some are saying they will support him now he is here but they'd rather we hadn't signed him. As GA says, the poll is irrelevant as it's been interpeted differently by too many people who can't read properly. That includes you, it would seem.

Don't agree with that either. Sturridge will be a star. He needs games. Better option than Bellamy, IMO.

when Boj is back do we start with him upfront with Bellamy or just use the 1 striker??? Coz leslie said about this 4-1-4-1 formation the other day and then when Petrov is back where will he fit in??? Would you play him and then perhaps put Robbie up front and drop one of the B and B's. gonna be interesting to see what happens when the whole squad are back to full fitness.

This season? I think we needed some bite up from, we have plenty of flair, someone to snap at defenders heels and all that. Yes, in the future Sturridge will be better than him, but right now, i think Bellamy will improve us.

agreed, sturridge shows a lot of promise, and in fact a lot of ability - particularly last couple times i've seen him. learning from stars has it's benefits.

How should I take it? Would i prefer Bellamy or David Villa?

That's if Bellamy doesn't get to him with a golf club first.

three words are too few to frame a specific question, generally speaking. too open to interpretation. as we have seen.
