Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich's luxury yacht has moored in Croatian waters, as Tottenham wait for their Croatian midfielder Luka Modric to fly to London from his homeland for talks about his future. This sounds a bit sinister to me. Remember when the British used to park a warship off the coast of some jumped-up colonial country to remind them exactly who was in charge? |

Cos he wants the biggest. The owners rarely travel for any periods anyway, they call the captain and tell him he wants the boat in Croatia for whatever date and he then flies to the closest airport and stays there. They might do small trips but owners dont want to be sailing, it's used as a floating hotel. That is bullshit about the sub being able to use as a 'get away' by the way, it is launched like all the tenders from the garage at the stern or from the side by a lift. Terrorists can see that all day long, plus a sub fits maybe 2 people + pilot at most. The weaponry on board however would be impressive. |

The tour guide we had in the Maldives was very complimentary of us as a former colonial power and very grateful for the naval protection we provide. We also built them a city by all accounts. Nice guy. The president of the Maldives had a quite impressive yacht moored in the harbour tbf. |
