just fucking loving this, even more hilarity

Liverpool co-owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett have removed the restraining order preventing the club's sale to New England Sports Ventures.

However, the move is not designed to help NESV seal their £300m deal, but to aid Hicks in his attempts to sell his stake to US hedge fund Mill Financial.

The club is hoping to tie up a deal with NESV on Friday, but Hicks believes he can still scupper their plans.

Mill could then pay off the £237m debt owed to Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS).

NESV's deal was being held up by the restraining order, which was issued by a court in Texas. The court was set to resume its hearing at 1300 BST on Friday, but that now appears unlikely.

DAVID BOND'S BLOG
Should Hicks succeed, an already complicated story will become even more bewildering

BBC sports editor David Bond
BBC Sport understands the overnight adjournment in proceedings in the US was to enable Hicks to have more time in his attempt to strike a deal with Mill Financial.

BBC Sports editor David Bond said: "The restraining order prevents any other buyer - such as Mill - from paying off the £237m loan to Royal Bank of Scotland, due on Friday, because it binds RBS as well as the board of Liverpool and its parent companies based in the UK. "

So let me get this right.
Hicks has lifted the order restraining liverpool from selling To the baseball chap so that he hicks can sell his shares to Mill whom he already owns so that they can buy lIVERPOOL WHOM THEy MUST ALREADY TECHNICALLY OWN IF THEY OWN hICKS AND GILLETTS SHARES ( Stupid buttons sorry) and not to someone else who is clearly the lesser of 2 evils.

not according to the beeb

the sports editor has made a good point, the debt to rbs has to be paid by hicks and gillette, no one else

if they sell to the mill then there has to be a transfer of shares that needs to be voted on, which h&g will no doubt lose. However, Hicks can still sell his shares to whoever he likes - which sure as hell won't be NESV

so, if nesv doesn't own the club by three, then rbs may well put the club into administration just to get rid of hicks

or the case will rumble on in court

either way, the team will be fucked and put into administration

I will not be posting this afternoon as i have decided to go into business.
I will form a holding company to buy my house from me for 4p.
This company will then raise money from a share issue to re-mortgage with the halifax for 3 times the actual value of the house.
As i am the director of this company i will then take 95% of that money in fees and expenses. When the Halifax come asking for their money i will pay £10 on account whilst i try to sell the house.
As i do not actually own the house, it belonging to the company I will then sue the Halifax for not letting me sell it.
Quids in all round and if it comes off I will buy Bassman a drink cos none of you others will.
