Yes. I would have to admit to being Irish.

How do they know because Terry is not making any statements, the FA say it is up to Capello and he is not making any statements.

Meh.

England Under-21 manager Stuart Pearce does not want a 'witch hunt' of John Terry after the recent revelations regarding his private life.

Chelsea and England captain Terry has been the subject of great media attention after it was revealed he allegedly had an affair with the ex-girlfriend of England team-mate Wayne Bridge.

The story has dominated the front and back pages in recent days, and the 29-year-old centre-half received a hostile reception from Burnley fans whilst playing for the Blues at the weekend, and from Hull City fans on Tuesday night.

Many have argued that Terry's position as England captain is now untenable, although Three Lions boss Fabio Capello has yet to make an announcement on the issue.

The Italian tactician is expected to have a meeting with Terry on Thursday or Friday, and while Pearce says the final decision rests with Capello, he is keen to avoid a 'witch hunt'.

"Fabio will certainly be wanting to be a dominant voice," he told Sky Sports.

"I couldn't see anyone else going above Fabio and making statements or decisions in respect to who captains the side above Fabio, I can't see that happening.

"I think the last decision should always be the manager's decision on whatever goes on.

"The one thing I would say is John Terry is a fantastic captain, in footballing terms on and off the pitch I think he is a selfless professional and his form is fantastic for his country.

"So I'm not a big lover of witch hunts of people which I'm afraid our country tends to follow a little bit these days.

"The bottom line is John, his family and everyone concerned in the matter - it's a matter for those people and not the likes of other people who haven't got a vested interest in what goes on."

Correct me if I'm wrong but every thing this wanker has done has been related to football

okay i will. it's only because he is a footballer. shagging a team mates ex? little to do with football. stadium tours? that's only the venue. serial adultery? nope.

so yeah, you're factually incorrect.

That one's abusing his position at the club to bo fair. It is exactly because he is a footballer that he was able to do it. The other issues, I agree with you on.

No, the things he has done are not related to football.

Say you were a postman, and you were shagging another postmans girlfriends....that is not related to being a postman. That's just you being a dick.

*except for the stadium tours FFS. If a postman was paid to give people rides in his postvan, that would be to do with him being a postman.

if it was a postman shagging a postmans wife would it be all over the news .

The fact that its the captain of England and Chelsea who happens to be a very famous FOOTBALLER shagging another FOOTBALLERS partner makes it a football issue.

Please tell me you're kidding. My sarcasm-o-meter isn't going off which is a worrying sign - maybe it's broken, surely it's broken, tell me it's broken.

*looks for sarcasm-o-meter repair kit*

Super Moderator actually ;)

The news has nothing to do with it.

So the profession affects whether it is a work issue or not? What's the news got to do with anything?

To be fair, if it weren't for the news, we wouldn't know about any of this. It has been fairly integral in the whole 'world cup willy' (to quote Private Eye) saga.

That's probably not the issue at hand though.

Yeah sorry, i just meant how does the news affect whether it's a football issue? It either is or isn't.

I'm probably contradicting myself because i think he should give up the captaincy. But still, it's a personal issue more than it is a football one.
