I took an instant disliking to Charlie Brooker when I saw him on some More4 advert. That was before I found out he writes for the Guardian.
You'll be trying to convince me Marcus Brigstocke is funny next:rolleyes:

I heart Charlie Brooker.

He slags a lot of TV stuff off - Dancing On Ice, I'm A Celeb, Jeremy Kyle, Loose Women etc etc

He is enthusiastic about good stuff on TV - The Shield, Dr Who, The Wire and anything by Oliver Postgate (he dedicated one episode of Screenwipe to kid's TV and was mostly positive about it.

And anyone who is willing to describe themselves as having "a face like a paedophile walrus" can't be all bad.

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/3397879/John-Terry-has-quit-gambling.html

SOCCER star John Terry has quit gambling after risking colossal fortunes at the bookies, The Sun can reveal.

The Chelsea and England defender has closed accounts with a number of bookmakers, including Victor Chandler.

Terry, 30, had big tabs with defined timescales in which to settle his losses.

He was known to enjoy a flutter on the horses, dogs and football matches he was not connected with.

But after risking staggering sums, the Blues' skipper was determined to curb his extravagant bets.

It is believed he has now settled all his tabs and vowed never to have a flutter again.

Trips to the gambling mecca of Las Vegas with his footballing pals may also now be off limits.

Terry – who earns around £9million a year at Chelsea – has always denied suffering money troubles or having a gambling addiction.

But he has been spotted in a Coral's betting shop in Surrey shoving huge bundles of notes over the counter.

He was also part of a betting clique in the England dressing room, including Michael Owen and Wayne Rooney, who were reported to have made huge stakes with a private bookie.

Last year it emerged Terry had a £3.95million mortgage on his mansion in Oxshott – £1.25million greater than the £2.75million he paid for it in 2003.

He mortgaged the property four times in seven years with a string of lenders – including the Queen's bank Coutts.

It was also reported that he had a huge mortgage on his mother's home which he bought for £3.15million three years ago.

A spokesman for the star confirmed to The Sun: "John does not gamble at all these days."

Dodged a bullet there, how Hughes thought he was the sort of personality we needed around the place is beyond me.

Imagine he'd been with us when the affair story broke. Him and Bridge in the same team, we'd have been slaughtered.
