Victor Valdes has played his last game for Barcelona tonight after suffering a Anterior cruciate ligament injury.

Looking at 6 months out.

He's leaving them at the end of the season.

Ouch
Quote:
Barcelona given transfer ban by Fifa
Spanish champions Barcelona have been given a 14-month transfer ban by Fifa for breaking rules on signing international players under 18.

The Catalan club cannot buy or sell players until the summer of 2015 after the world governing body imposed a transfer ban for the next two windows.

They have also been fined 450,000 Swiss Francs (£305,000).

Fifa has also sanctioned the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) for the same breaches.

The RFEF has been given a fine of 500,000 Swiss Francs and told to "regularise [its] regulatory framework and existing system concerning the international transfer of minors in football" within a year.

I reckon it'll be overturned, not allowing players to be sold must infringe on all kinds of employment laws.

Chelsea had a similar ban overturned on appeal.

there's some 17 year old kid that's rated as the new messi that we'll be able to sign now, and it'll keep their filthy catalan hands off our players (thinking hart as a replacement for valdes)

Except Barca could still easily win the league. Barca v Atletico at the Camp Nou last game of the season

Dawned on me reading your post how our season has turned to complete shite in 2014. Quadruple :(

they've had that happen in three games though, europe, copa del rey and probably the league. they could still win it but it looks far less likely now. at least we've thrown an unprecedented quadruple away over the course of a few months and have won one of the competitions we've been in.

I can't see Barca winning it!

Likewise the quadruple talk, really was the kiss of death!

I found a channel on satellite showing it.
I turned the game off at 1-1, with about 20 minutes to go and went to bed. Silly me.
Just seen the goal now on Youtube.
Glad Real Madrid won, and I cant believe I am even saying that.
These days, since the time of Romario and Stoichkov (and Cruyff), I have really gone off Barca, especially with their well entrenched style of play.
They need a change. Maybe a target man like Crouch or Carroll? :D
