Gareth Bale's certainly not looking like someone I'd want us to spend £80m on at the moment.

Just like last year we get skinned on the wings and we're hopelessly vulnerable to the long ball over the top!

This is 2015 not 1965 ffs! Get a grip Pellers.

This. Our fullbacks are :(

Fair to say we've never really looked like we've had a well-drilled defence under old Pellers

Cracking goal by Sterling. I reckon he's going to be ace this season.

The 35-odd million being banded around for Otamendi seems a bit steep to me, but we definitely need reinforcements right across the back.

Conceding at the end was a bit feeble but it was far from a first choice back four by that stage.

Some of those goals were lovely, no matter the opposition. Sterling's goals both showed a level of composure that the national media assures us he doesn't have, Silva almost scored a header  and the finish by Pozo was great

Nice to get some goals scored but I still fear for our defence. In my opinion we still need at least two new defenders but it seems we are stuck with Sagna no matter what and we are only being tenuously linked with centre halves.

See I thought all of this. I am even starting to come around to this Clarice dude. I did note that Silva played a part in...well every goal. If possible he is still getting better.

Can we please see some defenders before season starts Fizzy?

0-3 to Stuttgart already.

This is fucking terrible. Zaba, Aguero, Demigod and Ferna better hurry the fuck back to fitness.

Our defenders are a fucking joke. Especially Kompany... there it's been said.
