Tottenham have agreed a Fee with Blackburn for David Bentley believed to be around 12m, Personal terms are also believed to have been agreed. The player though is still subject to a medical which could take place anytime from tommorow to early next week.

Oh well another player i'd have loved to see at ours gone elsewhere, apparently there also after that arshavin who scored for Russia tonight.

Spuds always buy shit loads of players then underperform. They're welcome to Bentley. Not sure about Arshavin either. A bit lightweight for our team, particularly as we have Elano and Castillo who aren't exactly physical.

thats modric dos santos and bentley they've had from under our noses, can't stand bentley but the other two would of been good signings imo

I don't really know much about Dos Santos but I have the feeling he's no great loss. Modric looks decent but there are equally good players out there. We just have to get around to buying them. I have faith.

Spuds tend to do 'blanket buying' without any thought for who can play together and who can't. That usually fails.

I think Spuds are after the world record for the most midfield players in one squad.

Papers are now saying Villa have also moved in for him, that'd hardly be a step up for him.

There was a Blackburn fan on Talksport last night, he genuinely thought that Bentley is over hyped, he said he isn't quick enough and can easily be shut out of a game, all he really has is a good shot and aneye for goal. He would take the £12m and said that if they could get Lennon in return Blackburn would get the better deal.

Interesting, I havent seen enough of him for some reason I fear that would be the case with Bentley, we'd spend a fortune and he would udnerwhelm.

Lennon would be a good catch although he isnt the finished article either. He is probably the best RW available to us right now.

Fair one, right and left wing and left back, surely the hardest positions to find quality players?

well historically austria should provide someone, although you could probably do well in stoke these days.

I'm disappointed. I had to read that twice before I understood it.
We've been linked with everyone, so I reckon we surprise them all and get Gerrard

I get the Austria comment (Hitler) but no idea about Stoke. Is it a heartland for fascism?

being obscure, sorry.
right wingers... well that arshavin lad impressed last night, but he's not particularly a right winger. vladimir weiss coming through the youth team could be about our best bet. lennon... he's quick but i don't remember being all that impressed with his technical skill. bentley seems overrated, hailed as much as he is because of the lack of anyone else to be excited about. SWP, well... quick and all that, his distribution seems to have gotten better at chelsea but after so long getting so few games he wouldn't be the player we sold.

yeah stoke have a pretty high proportion of BNP councillors, was reading a few weeks ago that they could be the first council to have a BNP majority.
