3 English teams in the semi finals. Platini will be pleased. :)

I was trying to put a tenner on my paddypower account to put a couple of first scorer bets on tonight, anyway, I've had a new bank card, so while trying to deposit I clicked on change card and had to go through a right rigmarole involving my favourite superhero, my mother's maiden name, and old addresses. Anyway, it was a real pain in the arse, and when the old address I gave them wasn't right I said balls to it, I'm going to open an account elsewhere. Because I had to open an account elsewhere I was getting a free match bet, so I put £20 on Utd to win, then put my free match £20 bet on arse to win. Neither of my first goalscorer bets would have come in, but my match bets mean I won £70 tonight. In your face bookmakers. :D

There was a horrible inevitability about united scraping through tonight. The writing was on the wall from the moment I shouted at the TV 'take that you ****s' when the second Porto goal went in last week.

Still, at least Arsenal are playing as well as they have done all season. Hopefully they won't bottle it like Porto did tonight.

3 English teams, but between the 3 teams that reached the semi-finals, how many that played in the quarter-finals are English?

Well - Arsenal - Walcott, Gibbs
Liverpool - Carragher, Gerrard
Chelsea - Cashley, Lampard
Scum - Neville, Scholes, Ferdinand, Carrick, Rooney

So not that many.

I'd be interested to see what the percentages were for Bayern and Barca as well

Arsenal are hitting a bit of form, and they looked good last night. I think they might give it to united in the Semi.
