Sadly Barton will probably end up quids in on this.

Newcastle will sell him or give him away whilst paying him off in the process then someone like Sunderland will step in and tell the world that their manager is the one to show poor Joey the error of his ways.

Tossers.

is there not something in his contract about being unable to fulfill his obligations? granted this is due to the fact he's dodging an 18 stone sodomist in prison. but surely there is something about him being able to meet his contractual obligations or else his contract gets terminated. i know they can fine players for not turning up to training on time, or if they freak out and piss off back home, so surely there would be some provision for him getting sent down. fucking cheek expecting full wages whilst he can't turn out for (hopefully after the dabo case) most of the season anyway.

Barton is trouble. but someone will take a chance on him - Sunderland ? Blackburn ? That's if he still able to play in the prem. FA might have something to say in all this. Wouldn't want him back at city not even for a reduced fee. too much baggage and a bad influence on team mates. Glad he went when he did and glad we got £6M for him.

I doubt it, if they allowed Pennant to play with an electronic tag. Even if they want to do something, with their general buffoonery they'll probably try to bring in a rule which will be overturned in court due to a typo or other imbecilic loophole. Gordon Taylor wouldn't stand for it either :p

No one mentioned this yet:

Sam Allardyce fears Joey Barton could become suicidal if Newcastle sack him. (News of the World)

Don't know if this has already been linked to but... I was just browsing and came across this, it's an article in last sundays mirror by Danny Mills about Joey Barton. I though it was a good bit of insight into Bartons life that I hadn't heard before. It was a good read.

Good article that. I think the point he makes about barton's inflated self belief is a good one.

Indeed. I never thought I'd say it but Mills talks a lot of sense. He does paint a picture of someone with serious personality problems, and from what I know of Barton through seeing him in interviews and reading what he's had to say in the past, I'd say Mills is spot on in his assessment.

Interesting. I thought Mills was deluded though in saying he had to hold Barton back because Barton wanted to go and perhaps apologise to Dabo. Rubbish. Barton never apologises to anyone. I'm guessing he wanted to go back and get another dig in before Dabo regained consciousness. Barton is a twat.

I'd have thought that Mills was legally obliged to write that he might have been trying to go back to apologise, because he has no proof otherwise. However, it does read as though Mills actually believes that to be the case, but perhaps he's just bigging up his claims as a facilitator for whom Barton has respect - the only one who can get through to him and calm him down and all that.

Barton never exactly enforced though did he. Generally he gave the ball away a lot and scored the odd spectacular goal.

Srylsy he scored three good ones. Wigan, Charlton and Spurs. Shit bastard

Just wondering about that...
Was he not either on loan or totally out with a broken leg at this point?

How come nobody has mentioned the fact that the little scrote was released from prison today? Or is there a thread somewhere that I missed?

Why when I look at the word "come" that I just wrote there^, it doesn't look right? Even though I know it is.

70 something days of a 6 and half month sentence? It's not right you know. He should have done at least another month. At least. I can't begin to describe how much I hate the twat.

You don't need to describe it. We all feel the same way. He is a c*nt of the worst type. He gets found guilty of a worse attack than the one he's inside for, whilst he's inside, and the fucker gets out early. That is so shit.
