This is the shite I had to put up with last Friday. This is a Premiership game btw.

The score was actually Shamrock Rovers 0-2 Finn Harps. Rover's "goal" was offside. Finn Harps brought 14 fans with them.

Looking at the second goal in the last minute, I think the keeper may have come off the line a bit early.

Enjoy. I didn't.

This is a top flight game as well.

Shamrock Rovers are in the upper half of the table. They won't win the league this year but fancy their chances of winning a cup. We could face them in the UEFA next season if we qualify. They are the most successful side in the league and this is a home game.

:D

They seem to like seeing extensive coverage of keepers collecting crosses...big excitement obviously!

Like the soundtrack too - cover of Depeche Mode's 'Enjoy The Silence'. Is that in reference to the amount of fans attending the game?

Kiddy down the right wing looks like a rapist, shame his strikers didn't bother.

I was actually watching it in silence - didn't know there was a soundtrack. Did you like the empty stands? I was sitting behind the goals and that was about half full. One stand at the side was also half full and the others were closed.

This game was on Friday night. They were due to play Sunderland in a friendly the next night but it was called off due to the rain.

Rovers fans are animals. They taunted a player recently after his wife died of cancer. They also like posting their fights on youtube. They call themselves SRFC Ultras. Good job there are only 40 of them.

It went into the fish and chip van behind the goal and came out again.

Ever considered that the standard of footy is shite cos the locals prefer to support foreign teams?

Ireland more or less has the same population as Portugal. No reason why their League couldn't produce a CL winner.

Population of Ireland is 6m. Portugal is about 10m. Football is a minority sport after Gaelic Football, Hurling and Rugby Union. Also there are two seperate Football Associations in Ireland - unlike Rugby and Cricket. All decent players make their way to England or Scotland at the first chance. There are only a few full time clubs and as you can see there is little support. I can't take it seriously and only go when there is fuck all on at the cinema.

More people will sit in pubs watching English Premier or Celtic than watch this tripe. More people travel to the UK every weekend for football than attend the average eircom game. I can't see it changing anytime soon.

My brother has a wee band and they did a gig at Larne FC one night, at the end of the night they needed paid obviously so the treasurer used the gate receipts to pay them...he had to add 20 quid out of his own pocket to make it up.
