Barca/Real Madrid's squad depth is ridiculous. Starting XIs, substitutes XI and an XI of players not in the squads:

Barcelona starting XI:

Pinto;
Alves, Pique, Puyol, Jordi Alba;
Busquets, Xavi, Fabregas;
Pedro, Messi, Iniesta.


Real Madrid starting XI:

Diego Lopez;
Arbeloa, Varane, Ramos, Coentrao;
Khedira, Xabi Alonso, Ozil;
Di Maria, Higuaín, Ronaldo.


XI of substitutes:

Valdes;
Essien, Mascherano, Pepe, Adriano;
Song;
Thiago, Modric, Kaka;
Villa, Benzema.


XI of players not in the squads at all:

Casillas;
Montoya, Carvalho, Abidal, Marcelo;
Albiol, Sergi Roberto, dos Santos;
Alexis, Morata, Deulofeu.

did we dodge a bullet not getting kaka, and getting david silva instead...
I know hindsight is a wonderful thing and all that, but i know who i prefer.. :mrgreen:

That Varane is a proper player, been immaculate every time I've seen him this season. Will be one of the best defenders in the world over the next 10 years if he carries on.

Absolutely. I remember reading the Valencia chairman was happy to sell Villa but really wanted to keep Silva.

Still, never seen him do this in a blue shirt:
