Ipswich Town have called a press conference for Friday morning when they will confirm the departure of manager Roy Keane.

As revealed by skysports.com on Thursday evening, Keane was on the brink of getting the sack at Portman Road.

The former Manchester United midfielder had been in charge at Portman Road since 2009, but now just short of two years later he has departed.

It is understood that Paul Jewell is the leading candidate to replace Keane in Suffolk.
