Good news for Oldham this. Get him as a player for a season, maybe more, and he might just prove to be an effective manager. Prolly get the odd City fan turning up to Boundary Park too.

Last time I went to Boundary Park Dickov was there actually, in a front two partnership with George Weah. It was deadly. So it was.

I don't think we'd be where we are today if it wasn't for that goal from Dickov.

Legend.

Pretty sure we won that one, although it was only a pre-season friendly. Oldham were right on the brink of administration and City turned up with a few thousand. Chants of "You'd be fucked if we weren't here" etc.

Our record against Oldham in competitive matches in my lifetime is pretty poor tbf.

Yeah i remember being at the FA Cup game when they beat us and they were begging for money outside the stadium. The fixture was in doubt when part of the roof of one of the stands blew off that morning.

A January match. Cold as fuck. Keegan sat with his head buried in his coat on the bench and barely moved all game. We watched it in a bar in Egypt on our hols. City were about to sign Mido at the time. I bought an Egypt shirt with Mido on the back. We didn't sign him and he went to Spurs.

I was house-sharing with an Oldham fan at the time and got back to find my door plastered with all the press coverage of the "giant killing".

Yep. I remember him bringing off BWP who, surprisingly, was having an excellent game and bringing on Sir Pointsalot himself, McManaman. It was clear from that point we weren't getting back into that.

Fucking City. Bastards.

I walked back to the car park from the stadium with Dickov once. Nice guy.
