Why do clubs insist on employing Managers who 2 weeks ago were seen as failures at their previous clubs. Ferguson and Irvine were sacked because they were not doing well, and now they have what appear to be slightly better jobs.
Coyle has moved for money, and even we have bought a man who was sacked from his previous position.
Megson will resurface somewhere soon, with the chairman saying what a good manager he is and how lucky they are to have got him.

Forgot that one was still up for grabs,Hope he does manage them and keep them up and Bolton go down.

If i remember rightly Curbishley managed to get Charlton to finish 8th in the Premier league a few seasons ago.

The same reason players that fail at one club end up finding a new, often better club. Pavlyuchenko, can't get a game at Spurs but may well end up at Milan by the end of January (according to reports). Just because it doesn't work out at one club doesn't mean it won't work out at the next.

most managers get sacked these days, rather than leave under their own power, i reckon. there's only so many, and i guess half the time it is less the manager's actual tactical nous that has failed, more his relationship with the players.

I thought that Irvine worked wonders at PNE for an average team, and my mate is a posh fan he has said from day one that Ferguson was sacked for reasons behind the scenes.

I see that Brian Laws , deemed a failure at Sheff Wed a month ago when he left them near the bottom of the Championship, now has been appointed to the Premier League at Burnley.
In how many other walks of life, except politics, can failures be so blatantly promoted?
i suspect Burnley will be demoted.

He should have known this was never going to work out, he's allergic to cow hair. Stupid appointment imo.

Reasonably sensible appointment. If he could get Burnley up and keep Bolton up he has the right experience
