Seems Southgate has been sacked by Middlesboro.
4th place and 1 point off the top of the league . Seems a little odd at this time.

Yeah, the timing of it is really odd. They obviously decided that it was going to happen after the game no matter what the result. Then to have the top two lose and bring them back to within 1 point makes it even more strange.

I quite like Southgate and hope he gets another job soon.

I expect they already have somebody in line for the job.

The fact he has lasted more than three years is nothing short of astounding.

Probably the first thing I've ever agreed with you JTB.

Although, I kind of feel bad for him. He was never a bad bloke, don't recall him bad mouthing anyone to the press during his managerial stint. Just a shame he couldn't manage his dinner.

Steve Gibson is one of the soundest chairmen about to be fair - I'm surprised considering their league position, but it's been a long time coming to be fair, the fans ain't that keen. I seem to think attendance has dropped to around 17,000, which has hit them a bit financially. Wouldn't be surprised if they made a "high profile" appointment to try and boost attendances - though I don't know who would do that.

Yeah I think he was too much of a nice guy. Didn't he have a go at SWP a few seasons ago?

Strachan will be their next manager, almost certain of that. The only question is where Southgate will go from there.

It's all a bit weird though, fired after a 2-0 win, 3rd in the table and an instant dismissal. There's more to this story no question about that.

Liverpool. If the Scum and Arsenal beat Liverpool in their next two games, Rafa is gone, and Southgate will replace him to mastermind their downfall even more
