The nephew of Manchester City owner Sheikh Mansour has confirmed he wants to invest in Welsh minnows Bangor City.

..Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, a 26-year-old Bangor University graduate, followed the League of Wales side during his student days and is prepared to plough millions of pounds into the club.

"I don't see any reason why my family wouldn't want to invest in the club," he said after returning from Abu Dhabi to collect his economics PhD last week.

"We love our football. This is something we will definitely look at in the near future."

Bangor chairman Dilwyn Jones told The Sun: "We'd be very happy to talk to the Sheikh."

He added: "We're always interested in talking to businesses. If he'd like to support Bangor City FC, he's very welcome to join us at any of our games."

The Sheikh's family has amassed a fortune estimated at £500 billion, and Sheikh Mansour has already spent around £500m on City, bringing in big-name players such as Carlos Tevez, Gareth Barry and Emmanuel Adebayor.

While Tevez has signed a contract worth a reported £150,000-a-week, Bangor's players earn as little as £150-a-week, while the club's average attendance at their 1,500-capacity Farrar Road ground is around 400.

Bangor were League of Wales runners-up last season and lost their Europa League qualifying tie to FC Honka, going down 1-0 in the home leg on Thursday
