They really are getting desperate now?

It would be ridiculous. I'm not saying he couldn't do a job for them (in-between breaks for injury) but the idea of the rags buying a former Liverpool hero is really scraping the barrel when they reckoned they'd be keeping Tevez or buying Villa and Benzema.

Knowing their luck he'll get fit and score loads, though i never really rated the owen/rooney england partnership.

Speaking of Rooney, it was only yesterday he was making a plea in the evening news for Ferguson to play him in what he thinks is his best position as a central striker. I doubt he'd be too pleased if they signed Owen to play where Rooney think he himself should be playing.

Surely he's better as a support striker? Owen and Rooney never really worked though, too short.

30 in 65 for Newcastle, not bad. Would be funny but he'll also score a shed load. And you can pretty much guarantee he'll get a hat trick against us. As ususal.

Yeah, unfortunately he'll probably be quite good. Selling his soul a bit though.

Yep, he is going to get one of the worst receptions at Anfield ever.

Wonder why liverpool arent interested. They are short of strikers and he's available on a free.

Benitez holding a grudge ? Im sure Owen would rather return to Anfield than sell his soul and join united
