"there is nothing better than turning on MOTD and seeing a fat geordie cry"
you noel gallagher sir, are correct. Feels so good to call Newcastle a lower league club. Commiserations as we know the feeling of relegation. I look forward to see the Geordies topless at Plymouth on a Tues night or seeing them away being pissed on at Blackpool :D Bye bye Newcastle, Feel sorry for Shearer though :(

I'll say this now, i can't see Newcastle coming straight back up. All the toon are on the phone-ins now saying that they will, but i don't think so. They need to get rid of most of that squad, because it's not good enough even in the Championship.

Waste what bit of money they might have, and yes, they could be the new Leeds. Get the wong manager in now, and they are doomed.

what about man udebtned? reading they have 600 milions british £ debts to repay in 10 years.
its a impossible task! even if glazier sold the club.
what will happen when they cant pay? they have to sell of the players for money?
give them point reduction and relegation. is that possible?

Newcastle are gonna find it tough next year... half of the players will be going... to be honest, I won't miss them, or their fans.

Glad to see Newcastle go down, also this myth of the Newcastle fans being the best, sick of hearing this rubbish. if you look back at their attendances when they were down before they dropped the same if not more than every other club, if they were the "most passionate fans" this would not have happened. The best supporting fans in recent times has to be man city and Leeds hows support has stayed strong despite relegation.

Complain about this comment

The myth about Newcastle United supporters being the world's best needs squashing...season 1990/91 - average 16,879. Season 1991/92 - average 21,012.

This one is bullshit:

In 2008 if I were buying a football club, I would have bought Newcastle utd long before I considered Man City, the new owners would have seen a great deal more enthusiasm for their money. The huge squabble about bringing back Keegan last year was the ruination of the club and the fans have only themselves to blame for that. Now they are left with ageing players on big contracts and who wouldn't fetch much money in the transfer market. Someone good needs to sort the wheat from the chaff on the playing field otherwise Newcastle could do a Leeds Utd.

Road signs mock club's relegation

The sign is on a main road heading to Newcastle
A pair of comedy road signs mocking Newcastle United's relegation from the Premier League have been unveiled by cheeky Sunderland supporters.

One sign, on the A184, has an arrow pointing towards Tyneside and reads: "Sid James' Park, the biggest stadium in the 'Fizzy Pop' league'."

The other, on the road to Sunderland, says: "The Stadium of Light, the North East's only Premier League stadium."

A video of the stunt was posted on the video sharing website YouTube.

They are entitled to laugh, after all we laughed at them when Sunderland were relegated in 2003 and then again in 2006

Newcastle fan John Monaghan
The signs have been fixed to empty posts which used to bear official road signs.

Last month, Newcastle owner Mike Ashley put the club up for sale after saying sorry to fans for the mistakes which cost them relegation to the Coca Cola Championship.

He said: "It's been catastrophic for everybody. I've lost my money and made terrible decisions."

Earlier this week, Sunderland supporters made scores of bogus bids for Newcastle United when the club asked for offers via email.

Newcastle fan John Monaghan, 35, of Heaton, said: "They are entitled to laugh, after all, we laughed at them when they were relegated in 2003 and then again in 2006.

"But it's hard to find anything very funny at the moment if you're a Newcastle fan."

What does a Newcastle fan do after his team has just beaten Real Madrid in the Champions League final?

Turn his PlayStation off and gets into bed with his sister...
