This is so true. He is quite ridiculous. A person of amazing talent and he wants to dive and throw himself around the floor like a little girl, tantrum like a little boy, pout and facialise like a gay, Portugese hairdresser. Is the Premier League better of without him? I say yes. I dream of a day when other leagues look at the Premiership with admiration of it's non-tolerance to diving, tantrums and referee-recalcitrancy. I dream of a day when I can speak highly of football around my rugby mates who quite rightly are disgusted by the nonsense that occurs on the football pitch.

He is not alone but Ronaldo has no excuses when he could be the world's best AND stay on his feet and respect ref's, managers and supporters without his puerile antics. He's a c**t.

i've heard it said that football was a game played by gentleman watched by thugas, and that rugby was a game played by thugs watched by gentlemen. unfortunately there are few gentlemen left playing footy. arshavin and his "it's not a penalty ref" should be how it always goes, but he gets lauded for rare sportsmanship.
watching the petulance displayed by players like drogbastard and show pony, and then seeing some hulking monster obediently do as directed by a referee in a rugby match is a stark contrast.

So true. Again it goes back to the whole game needing a shake-up. Referreeing needs an enormous overhaul, that's true and when that starts to occurr the likes of pony-boy are fucked.

but hten you have the widely accepted view that referee's are not all that impartial at say, old trafford or anfield. you get those decisions that are definitely home team biased. part of the overhaul should be including at least goal line tech, possibly even some kind of referral system, limited to say 3-5 per match, that uses cameras to assist decisions. or even another referee using cameras. it's hard to have respect for a referee who makes a wrong and costly decision, or who allows blatant cheating to go unpunished. it'd mean sendings off for no-contact-made diving bastards. be less likely to do it if they were going to be caught everytime.

As well as a different culture, don't they have a rule that the only people allowed to talk to the ref are the captain and the player involved in the incident? Simply yellow carding anyone who runs halfway across the pitch to shout at the ref would be a start, it's ridiculous when you see the ref surrounded by a whole team shouting in his face every time he makes a decision they don't like.

too soft. sending off and a three match ban. do the same for divers, even retrospectively, and ditch that stupid fucking rule about "if the ref dealt with it at the time, or decided not to take action, we can't revisit it" that seems to have gotten ronaldo off the hook for lashing out at oppo players three or four times this season, but which was used to ban swp for three games.

as it is, it's meant to be just the captain that discusses it. that seemed to go out the window after a couple games this season. they should have someone watching this stuff and speaking over the radio to refs, so that dives, petulant little slaps or kicks and goal line stuff can be reviewed and decisions made with utter confidence. something just saying "contact or no contact" and then leaving it to the ref to decide if the player went down avoiding a potentially crippling challenge, or if he did a swan dive over a dangling leg.

I presume Berbatov is getting a three match ban for his kick out at Kompany?
