I don't know whether any one has posted this somewhere else , but gerrard has been remanded to the Crown Court, which indicates that the offence is considered to be quite serious. It will be the summer at least before it comes up.

he is scouse, therefore is guilty isn't it? or was the victim a rag, in which case it's a fit up guv.

He was reputed to be in attendance at the scene.

Just heard he'll plead not guilty when his case is heard in March.

Was there any suggestion that he was windmilling in, or was he just with the wrong crowd?

Crown court is more likely to throw shaky cases out, rather than waste time. If the defence were given the chance to appear at crown they might have chosen it for just that reason. Can backfire though as the crown court has the power to impose harsher sentences.

If it's going to crown then he's pleaded not guilty so it'll go to a jury trial.

When I first heard it was a Man U DJ involved, I put 2 and 2 together and thought...wonder if he played the famous "Monster" song....this may have upset old Stevie G.....

on a serious note.....the clue to me is that he is charged with affray...this basically means he may have been that agressive to upset onlookers to fear for their personal safety...if this is the case then there are witnesses and Stevie is going to the slammer....period, otherwise it could be due to him being involved with another being violent and again the onlookers were afraid, but the point of affray from what I understand, is that it involves violence and does not work by just words alone, i.e. if Stevie perhaps was not just mouthing off...either way, if he is found guilty of affray.....he could be in trouble with a capital TR.

There were two others charged with him. Until we know who's accused of what it's hard to tell.

True, it should be like the US where we can watch the case **live** like the OJ trial, we could all watch that instead of watching the same news repeated every 60 minutes on SSN.
