They're celebrating their centenary this year, and as part of it they are selling all season tickets for the 2008/09 season for £100. So far they have sold 15000 compared to 8000 last season and financially the club is no worse off. On top of that there's obviously going to be an increase in merchandising sales, food and drink etc. Huddersfield had an advert on TV last night promoting the offer, first time I can remember a footy club advertising in this way.

I think this is a cracking idea on their part, might as well have a packed stadium at less revenue per person than a half empty ground at double the cost per person. Bucks the trend as reported today that 1 in 7 season ticket holders in the EPL will not renew for next season.

Well done them.

Do you think Frank will do this when he realises he has totally cocked up and finishes up with a crap managerless team being beaten every week in a deserted stadium?

Doubt it, he'll just ship them in from Bangkok.

I'd love to know how ST sales have gone since all this kicked off.

As do City to be fair, I see on the OS that we've picked up another couple of awards, just hope Frank doesn't dabble in this.
I also think City should be applauded for the £99 ST's for under 16's, I bet very few other PL clubs have a similar scheme.

True. Mrs B used to work for Business In The Community and did a lot of work with City.

There are concessions for OAP's but not to the tune of £99. My dad turns 65 in November, but still had to pay full whack for his 08/09 ST.

Good for Huddersfield. As fans are starting to drift away as they are being priced out, this sort of action by smaller clubs can get fans back.
And that ought to be real fans, not the rag/chav sort.
