Sheffield United chairman Kevin McCabe has told BBC Radio 5 Live that an independent tribunal has ruled against West Ham over the Carlos Tevez affair.
McCabe said it would be "inappropriate" to discuss figures of compensation despite reports claiming the Hammers could be forced to pay £30m.
West Ham were found guilty of breaching league regulations in the signing of Tevez and Javier Mascherano in 2006.
The Hammers survived in the Premier League in 2007 at the Blades' expense.
Rather than being docked points by the three-man Premier League arbitration panel, West Ham were fined £5.5m and went on to survive the drop on the final day, while United were relegated.
Having failed in their attempt to have the original punishment overturned, the Yorkshire outfit sought monetary recognition.
On the subject of compensation McCabe has previously said: "If you say that the Championship play-off game is worth £60m and Sheffield United's attendance last year was 31,000, with full hospitality boxes and restaurants and broadcasting income, you would say compensation is around £50m."

From the BBC

I'm banned from doing that.

Some people were saying that firefighters desrved more pay but others disagreed.

I took a poll and three firemen fell to their deaths!

I have no idea what that means. Are you talking in riddles today?

I can see Newcastle really struggling this season with all the shit going on there at the momment, unless someone comes in with alot of cash by Jan and buys them a new squad!

I'm not sure which team would give me more joy to see relegated. I dislike them all in simialr measure, so the only thing for it is if they all went down!

Realistically, the only team in danger is the Toon. How i would laugh if it happened.

Sheff Utd 'win West Ham tribunal'

Or, West Ham insist Zola will not have to sell players in the January transfer window to raise funds to pay the Blades. (Daily Express)

But Zola might see his spending restricted in January because of the ruling. (Daily Telegraph)

The Hammers may have to pay out as much as £30m but the two clubs are likely to thrash out a compromise deal in the region of £15m. (Daily Star)

West Ham will approach the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) about appealing against the Football Association arbitration panel's ruling on the Tevez affair. (The Times)

The East London club are actively considering appeals to Fifa or Cas over the ruling. (Independent)

Hammers owner Bjorgolfur Gudmundsson will not walk away from the club and intends to pay the bill for the dispute with Sheffield United. (The Times)
