Before Bastard put an end to it, I had a long career teaching just up the road from Ewood Park. As PE teachers we had quite a lot of contact with Blackburn Rovers and I have to say most of it good. John Williams, now with us, was an excellent chairman and of course they were bankrolled by Jack Walker. I have never been a suporter of that club but I always take an interest in their goings on.

I am therefore saddened by their current situation brought about by their aquisition by the Chicken Farmers. The FA and the Premier League should write it all up and publish it as an example of why their Fit and Proper Person test is a total failure.

If you want a good laugh look at the website of the Lancashire Telegraph and read the fans' comments.

Then think back some 6 years and say "There but for the grace of God*-----------------------------"

I always had a fondness for Blackburn due to them taking the PL trophy from United. And when Uwe Rosler hit the bar at Ewood Park that same season, that still makes me go "OOh".

There was the promotion game of course, they battered us and we turned it round. I have seen them beat us a fair few times though, so emotions are mixed
