Indeed we should. Wow, the FA say something dumb. Who knew?

I believe that actually aiming to win something goes against all that the FA represent - a good effort, nearly good enough, well done chaps, never mind

I disagree, England have consistently proven that they are a quarter-final team, maybe semi's with a bit of luck. England fans, encouraged by the media, suffer from Newcastle mentality. Never win anything, nowhere near good enough, yet still think they have a divine right to be the best. Such an arrogant nation when it comes to football, when truth is the team is distinctly average.

Sven overahieved first world cup and did about right with the "Golden Generation" in 2006. McLaren was just a clown.

If Capello gets England to the semi then he has overachieved massively. To win the thing wouldn't be far short of a miracle

Bollocks. We ain't great, granted, but then Germany haven't been great since '74 yet they still seem to manage some semblance of respectability. Time and time again they put themselves in the mix with average players. Nowt to say we can't do the same. Greece won Euro 2004. Anything is possible. Though, setting targets such as those is complete and utter nonsense.

Well i take your point, especially about Greece.

You can't disagree with this bit though, surely?
