I thought one of the main reasons they went for Roy Hodgson was that he's was English.

Not a very Spanish name though.

THE FA HAVE REVEALED THAT THEY TURNED DOWN PEP GUARDIOLA BEFORE GETTING HODGSON IN AS MANAGER BECAUSE HE IS SPANISH.

heh

it was more why turn down one of the most respected managers in the game for a chap who was at west bwom.

or, as bert notices, why we employed woy if he is spanish.

It's because he's Spanish.

It'd be a supremely silly decision to appoint a foreign manager when engerlund has dozens of successful managers at both club and national level to call upon. Also, in fairness to Pep, he'd be inheriting a group of england (pop. 53 million) players that maybe one or two at best would make the Belgium (pop. 11 million) first team. Let's go with one to be safe.

I don't understand that whole stereotype that Belgiumish people are paedos. I have met loads and never even got a looking over, and I've made myself available I'll add. It's bullshit.
