I'd see what his pass completion was today before you go round saying stuff like that. Bearing in mind the majority of the time when he gets the ball he just taps it back to the person that gave it to him, anything less than 90% would be criminal. And that doesn't count the times he gets dispossessed, including that time near the end when it nearly resulted in a goal. If that was a man of the match performance my name's Hilary.

Zing!!! Quite good.

Seriously though fuck off, since you've become an integral part of the England team you've been a real pain in the arse.

Great win even though it is only a friendly, defended very well but when we did attack the only players with space were Jones and Parker and both were pretty poor on the ball.

With Rooney coming deep though picking the ball up off the DMs like Silva and Aguero do for us we'll be a lot better.

Anyway cue the press getting overally excited, the pressure affecting the players and a poor Euros.

Lost interest after Silva went off. Was only watching for him and Spain. List even more interest after the goal.

Then turned it off when Clive Tyldsley used the word 'swagger'.

oh god, the worst thing in the world happened - we won.

cue hysteria about us winning the euro cup, only to crash out very early.

Lescott MOTM..

We defended well, with a bit of luck, & took one of the only chances we created.

We'll see a very different Team against the Swedes on Weds though..

Fair play to the Team that played yesterday, it's not every day you're able to beat the World Champions..

We're 7th in the rankings :) Spain still first by a massive margin.

The rankings are a travesty

Greece are 8th. So yes.

Rankings mean very little.

Really? We're below Spain, Germany, Netherlands, Uruguay, Brazil and Italy. How many other teams do you think are noticeably better than England? Argentina (10), despite the players, haven't performed anywhere near the highest level in recent years. Portugal (T8) didn't even finish top of their qualifying group and France (15) barely squeezed through theirs. I'm not saying England are a particularly good side, just noting that there aren't actually that many international sides of significant quality - I'd personally draw the line between the very top-class international sides and the rest under Germany, or maybe just stretching to include the Netherlands.

About 6 months after the world cup didn't England go sixth?

England should probably linger around the top ten, maybe, but they should never be that high. Netherlands briefly replaced Spain as world number one when Spain lost a friendly and Netherlands friendly was cancelled.

Bit silly.
