If you're particularly bothered about England doing well, which I'm not, then yes of course he has to go. Madness going without your best player. I think Paulo Rossi didn't play for Italy in the first 3 games of the '82 world cup and went on to become top goal scorer and they won it. If England didn't take Rooney, they might as well not bother going, sadly.

Without him they may not get through the group so he would be superfluous anyway
Will Ferguson shield him by not playing him tomorrow/

this is the very reason why the football authorities in england should be tougher on the twat when he gets into bother.....when he gets away with things like the elbow last year he thinks he is untouchable and now its england that is paying the price for his stupidity and inability to control his temper....i personally wouldnt take him, whats its saying to the strikers that start the tournament, no matter how well they do they know that once he is available then their place is under threat. if they do take him and england dont get through the group stages then he will be fucked and blamed for taking up a place in the team which could have went to someone who could have done a job... or if they squeeze through the group stages then all the pressure is on him to help take the team forward, once again heaping the pressure on him and this is when he does silly things...

besides all that shite they will take him:rolleyes::rolleyes:

We statistically play better without him. Saw it on TV yesterday (I know not the best source), win % with Rooney 60%, without Rooney 69%.

I honestly don't think Capello uses Rooney in the best way. We seem to rely on him (for creativity) and international teams just shut him down. It doesn't help that Rooney doesn't seem to care about England, it's almost as if he sees it as a chore to be there.

I really do think we'd be better off with Bent or Carroll, and eventually Welbeck.

Not saying Rooney shouldn't go, he'd be ace if he actually cared.

fuck the scouse no-necked balding c nt off and take bent, or, and this is a fucking revolutionary idea, do what was promised and ditch all the feckless older players and go with kids who might actually give a fuck about playing for england. welbeck, sturridge, carroll and the like.

having said all that, and possibly giving the mistaken impression that i give two tugs of a dead dog's cock about the national team, they could field a team made up entirely of first division players and do no worse.

I don't remember shrek doing much for England for a while but I have to admit I am less and less interested as time goes by.
If Capello tries to play Lampard and Gerrard together in experiment number 3428 I won't bother watching again until he's gone.

Putting Gerrard on the left of midfield during the world cup was fucking criminal. We have at least 2 or 3 decent guys for that position, Capello won't take risks. He thinks he should use seasoned international players. He's wearing blinkers, has he seen the Spanish or German teams recently?
