David Luiz is the pits. That thing where he tapped the ball back to Muller so he could take a massive swipe at his legs is the most vicious thing I've ever seen on a football pitch. Then the final whistle goes and he resumes his regular dialog with God. Surely an all-seeing, all-knowing God would know what he's like and think he's as nasty a cunt as the rest of us?

The German team has exposed 2 teams sadly lacking - Portugal and Brazil.
The USA, Ghana, Algeria, France - all gave Germany a good game.
Just shows how far Brazil has slipped. They seem to have lost their love of football and their rhythm. They look to have given up.
Still Germany has a massive game to go, which could render this scoreline meaningless if they dont win the prize.

Funny how you never see Louis Van Gaal and Paul Merton in the same room isn't it?

I am glad argentina are through, the dutch are pissing me off lately.

Anyone else notice that aguero has done nothing for them except score that penalty.

Yes Aguero not producing much. I often feel that he gets a little lazy and expects the ball to come to him too much. Higuain kept looking for it. Aguero was just walking and sometimes a small sprint but as Martin Tyler said, no point trying not to get injured if your going to lose the game so he should go for it, or something to that extent.

pleased with the result if not the manner of it. hopefully we'll see our trio making a decisive contribution to lifting the world cup. agree that ageuro looked off it, but the dutch defence were exceptional at cutting out passes, that or the argies were losing their ability to be accurate by that point. zaba was as ever fucking awesome, even after taking that clattering. martin wasn't too shabby either, did a great job with robben.

Zabba and Demichelis start, Aguero on the bench.
