Algeria. Hard Fucking luck. You went and had a go. Went out fighting to the end and pushed the krauts all the way.

Argentina were disappointing. Switzerland did well, and could have done better.
Very disappointed from the teams thus far getting into the quarter-finals.
Gives the USA hope, especially as Belgium have not fulfilled their promise.

Can't think of a single so called big team that have been impressive. Not necessarily a bad thing, levelling out the playing field. Columbia have probably been the best team so far, but I imagine Brazil will see them off unconvincingly.

It's hard for Argentina to use their powerful attack when the double decker red bus is parked in front like the Swiss and Iran. They just find it hard to get through it. The swiss could have scored a few times but so could have Argentina. In the end and for effort in trying, the right team won.
Would have preferred USA to win to stick it up that bitch in the USa who was scathing of the sport as if it were part of a jihadist movement. Only saw the match highlights but it seemed that it was Belgium v Tim Howard for a long time.

Agreed but that's how teams win flags and internationals, grinding out results. The South American teams have been quality and great to watch.

USA were top value too, as I have said before on this forum albeit some years ago, in my time I will see the US win a WC. They had the largest travelling support of any team this year.

I would love to see Columbia and/or Costa Rica go thru, fuck the hosts. They annoy me.

Brilliant game of football last night and as a neutral could thoroughly enjoy a game for once instead of shitting it.

Heart, guts and determination we have seen from USA and Algeria, shame our lads don't know how to do that.

Think Howard made the most saves in a World cup game

Germany through to the semis.

The match did not feel like a quarter final at the world cup. Neither side look like they were really going for it.

Yup both teams scared to loose rather than trying to win. Really hope columbia turn over Brazil tonight. Also my faith in opta stats has been destroyed by hearing that David Louise has statistically been the best player of the tournament so far. I hope James Rodriguez tears him a new one tonight.
