How bad can things get at Fifa.
Corruption is blatant on a world wide scale.
Their Ethics committee manage to find against everyone but Blatter.
They are still going to have an election next week even though there is now only one candidate.
Interestingly (and slightly proudly) of the 208 associated countries only one seems to be making a fuss over these problems. England.

Warner's started making noises about Qatar's World Cup Bid. Granted, it's six months too late, but I get the impression that the walls will come tumbling down as more and more people get involved. Still, Sepp Blatter keeling over would be the best way.

It's pretty great watching them tear each other apart. Jack Warner has evidently decided he's going to drag as many people down with him as possible.

Still don't think we'll see much real change.

What makes me laugh about this entire saga is that it's SO obviously totally corrupt. Everybody can see it, yet largely FIFA ignore it.

Sepp basically got the other guy removed from the election with political back handers. It's the typical sleaze everybody hates.

FIFA have already managed to turn the world cup into a joke tournament by putting it in South Africa. What's left to ruin?

Now it might just be me, but i thought football is largely a South American or European sport. What the hell have Qatar done to deserve it?

What was wrong with a World Cup in Africa? Their fans are crazy for it!

Hardly, football is about as universal a sport as there is.

A. Vuvuzalas.

All the hype about an African country having the World Cup for the first time, I hope FIFA never make that mistake again.

:D Nice one, Bert

I don't think we'll see an African World Cup again for a long time. Who else has the infrastructure to host it? Let's be honest, South Africa didn't. The roads out there are supposed to be a death trap

Qatar is a stupid place to host a World Cup - baking hot, no beer allowed and all the women have to cover up. Bloody stupid

Further to my post above; received this PM from our newest member:

Hi Noddy

I am writing this E mail from Doha City Cenre,Qatar, I can advise you can buy beer in the hotel bars but you have to show your passport and have it scanned, in every hotel bar you go in, A pint of lager is on average 35 QRs per pint , there are 6QRs to a pound,I have been workinhg here for 6 months originally form Hazel Grove, Stockport.
For this Country to hold the world cup it will have to change, its got 11 years to do it,today the temp outside is 105/43 degrees and its not warmed up yet, I was in Dubai this time last year the temp went up to 49 degrees, want more info on Qatar, just E mail me.

Tony Coleman
So the beer's dead dear and the women still have to cover up

Julio Grondona spoke earlier and said that the English Press is making everything up and then he literally said that they should "leave the FIFA family alone... Leave our family alone."

I also had a look at his wiki page and noticed this little gem:
Quote:
Grondona caused controversy in 2003 when, in response to a journalist's question about referee standards in Argentina, he said: "I do not believe a Jew can ever be a referee at this level. It's hard work and, you know, Jews don't like hard work."[1]

In an interview with a German press agency yesterday, Grondona called England "pirates" and added: "Yes, I voted for Qatar, because a vote for the US would be like a vote for England. And that is not possible. "But with the English bid I said: Let us be brief. If you give back the Falkland Islands, which belong to us, you will get my vote. They then became sad and left."

IMO Grondona is directly responsible for Argentina being poo in the last 20 years...

He is probably the most corrupt man in Argentina

Sounds like a perfectly reasonable request. Why didn't we go for it?

It is a bit scary to imagine just how corrupt FIFA must be if only 2 out of 208 FAs think Sepp Blatter doesn't have the moral authority to continue.

Not to even agree to have things accessed by an independent arbiter?!

Blatter must have the goods on a hell of a lot of folks.

This total corruption tied in with England's band of shit fuckers has totally put me off International football and I have no interest in it.
