Looking forward to lots of fans dying in the 50 degree heat after they get plastered and forget to drink any water

Seriously a breeze in that heat and low humidity is like having a hairdryer pointed at your face

I don't really see what blatter's done wrong here. he doesn't tell "straight" footie fans to go over there and shag each other all over the desert sands, so why shouldn't he tell the "gay" fans that they need to refrain from bumming/shunting/panning/swamping/everything else they do?

Homo activists get riled by everything, they need to justify their existence. They haven't got much to do since the sodomising of 16 year olds was legalised:rolleyes:

It's massively homophobic, in that it totally belittles and mocks their plight.

Imagine if he suggested that black people visiting Russia should paint themselves white or something to avoid racism.

What plight?

Stop being such a cotton headed ninny muggins.

In what meaningful way will anyones lives be affected? You have to go out of your way in this country to watch gay men humping. How on earth would this law be policed in a way that would catch people breaking it? Pillow cameras?

Yes, I'm sure gay fans will be flocking to the World Cup in Qatar and the fact that the country views their orientation as a crime worthy of a 5 year prison sentence will have no bearing whatsoever on their inclination to go!

That response in no way answers my question. It's just liberal nonsense rather than right wing nonsense.

You're the Yin to the Daily Mail's Yang.

Instead of losing arguments on the internet just march in there and tell her how you feel. Whats the worst that could happen?

You asked how the law would affect people's lives in any meaningful way, I answered.

The early stuff is bearable, like the demo they did to audition for a drummer.

Couldn't they just give out those gay condoms or something?

I'm talking about Qatar here, not Camera Pillows. OK?

I think I lost my virginity using a 'gay condom' because it was the only one I could find in the house.

Well if you're mad enough to pay silly money to stand in 50 degree heat to watch football, being gay in a no bumming zone isn't going to stop you.

Being gay never stopped those that were inclined to do so join the military, to go and be shot at by the irish and so on so I don't really see it as a massive upsetting barrier to travel.

Just bum in your hotel or what have you.

It's almost like there's fundamental differences between wanting to join the army and travelling to a world cup! While there are numerous things higher up on the big list of 'reasons for a gay fan to not go to the world cup in Qatar' it's still very insensitive of Blatter to try and laugh this off when it's a massive white elephant in FIFA's no discrimination in football bollocks.

Just the fact they had to have a caveat in their bid saying they would recognise Israeli passports for the duration of the tournament should have prevented them from ever getting it.

I agree that it reeks of hypocrisy and is an utterly corrupt and stupid decision, but when you use words like 'plight' to describe things it makes you sound like David Attenborough fretting over an otter or something.

I fucking knew using plight would get me in trouble. I literally deleted the word when I was writing the post and replaced it with something else more wordy but thought 'no, no-one will jump on me for this'. Look how wrong I was.
