Young's only skill is diving in the box

He hasn't even done that.

Tonight: Lescott, Terry and Gerrard. Hart - cant say much about goalkeepers.
But that is it. the rest have been not very good IMO.

How Italy have managed not to score is beyond me.

what was the point in Rooney? what has he done? has he ever been good for England?
he should have been left at home with Welbeck and Young.

How germany must be laughing at tonight#s game.
the commentator cant get over the England tactics for the game and has mentioned how poor England is at penalties.

for the tactics, in fact all 4 games this far, England deserves nothing.

i said to the mrs he would miss.
the bloke is a useless bag o' shite. 4 poor games.

England has deserved nothing this whole tournament.
Hodgson can fuck off as well. taking a load of shit Pool players and putting 3 United shysters up front.
the England players were exposed for the untalented overpaid wankers that they are.
No one can complain. they fluked it this far. they could have so easily lost the 3 group games.
poor players. poor tactics. finally the right result.

Young walks up, i said oh bollocks...knew he would miss and he did..
He has been utter dogs piss...
i take my hat of to england they lucked their way through and lost out in the lotto, and even though out classed, they grafted hard imo..

But for young, we could have gone through, soon as he missed it gave italia, the push, and they deserved it..
cole's pen was shit, but i blame young...
looks like he's a loser again.....

awful tedious game, predictable that young would fluff his one chance to make a useful contribution. johnson also had a chance that micah would've buried.

pirlo's penalty was ice cold.

fair result. we deserved nothing from that game.

England fluked it thus far. Poor tactics and players.
Terry; lescott; hart; gerrard. Maybe Cole.
Problem: only Lescott has a few years at the top left.
so who is coming through? Welbeck and young the example of the future? jeez.

on the Beeb:
Former England winger Chris Waddle on BBC Radio 5 live:

"Hodgson has played defensive football and we have had the rub-of-the-green in a lot of ways. We are no further forward than we have been in the last four or five years. Nothing has changed since South Africa. We have had an enormous amount of luck. We cannot pass the ball. We've said it all along, let's see what is produced from Burton. It is basics, we haven't dominated one game at this tournament with the ball. Why do Italy do it? Why do Spain do it? We cannot pass the ball."

Rooney does not deserve to escpae criticism. He looks out of shape, couldnt get into either game really that he appeared in.
looks like he just thinks he needs to turn up.

but why do we bother with England at all?

Bloody woeful performance tonight and them subs were awful.

Defoe and the Ox should have come on as we had no attacking ambition at all.

Also Harts breaking records, had 85 touches in the game which is more than any other keeper in the History of the Euros.

A slightly more generous appraisal:

I think the back five all did well. Nobody had an outstanding tournament but - Sweden game aside - all of the defenders played well, even Johnson. Don't think Cole or Johnson did too much going forward but then the system didn't really accommodate attacking - Micah's talents may well have been wasted had he gone.

Gerrard was the pick of the England players (by a margin); Milner did well but again wasn't afforded too much scope to attack. Young ranged from fairly absent to bad in three of four games (he was actually OK against the Ukraine). Parker was not-very-good-but-not-entirely-awful in every game.

Rooney was decidedly off the pace. Welbeck didn't provide too much of a threat, but yet again Hodgson's system maybe asked too much of him. Carroll actually warranted his place in the team and proved himself to be very hard to beat in the air. Honestly, if we were going to play so defensively, I think he should have started every game.

Very few players were anything other than 'reasonable' and we played a system that increased the odds of a squad full of 'reasonable' players winning. Pretty dire watching, really. Can't blame Hodgson for attempting to get the best result out of the players at his disposal but the tournament wasn't exactly a good advert for English football.

We could and maybe should have had 2 penalties in the game anyways.

Everyone could see that the Yooited Diver would miss that Penalty! What a piss Young is, but Rooney was awful, even more disgusting.

England deserved this, i mean wtf are you thinking to win something with a half Liverpool Squad? it s a wonder the team got to the groupstage, must be coz France were shite too.

This happends when you leave Micah and Johnson out, noone Yooited Player deserved to play the Euro, especially not Shrek who played better in Las Vegas than on the Euros.

Pirlo was brilliant, De Rossi was good and Balotelli had a brilliant hold-up but should score twice.

I'm warming to Carroll. He had a decent game- as much as a striker can with a team performance as poor as that. He was the only attacking player that had a positive affect on the game (as little as it was).. IMO that just proved how poor Liverpool actually were/are.

Balo had an amazing game. He was unlucky to end up without a goal. He also proved he is a team player. Very good performance :)
