The moving of the arm like a Matador with the cape is seen as a very “Spanish” expression and probably one that the Political independence seeking Catalan’s would take great offence to. Barca is seen as winning against Spain when they play Madrid for example and less about the football itself.

During a very big independence rally at the weekend, there were many Barca officials making their support visible.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/10588494.stm

There is often a link between those who support Barca and the also want independence of Catalonia.

And yes, she is smoking hot and actually knows what she is talking about too!

Is it feasible? Can Catalan actually support itself if it happened? It would be a massive step backwards for the country and and would inspire hatred I'd say. Much as the French DETEST Monegasque residents.

Cheating Footy was a big winner for me. Diving / rolling around on the ground and gathering around to influence the ref worked a treat for Spain.

If only I could find a gif image of the scene that followed the above. Busquets and co... c^^ts, the lot of them.

For the record, Torres only managed 33 passes from 67 attempted. Pretty embarrassing. Literally one of the worst players at the tournament.

He quite literally kicked himself in the back of his calf. Forgot about this.

Yeh, Torres had a mare this tournament. Fair to say his price dropped, clearly he wasnt fit at any time but at least twice I saw the coach drag Villa off for Torres.....WTF?!

Poor Torres! He would have been better off staying at home.

He had a poor tournament but I think his injury worked against him. He's a class player.

It’s a tough question. They seem to think so, but im not convinced.

In Catalonia, they don’t like the fact that they subsidise the rest of spain (south in particular), where funds are used to grow industry and infrastructure, but very little to show for it.

The population is 7.5M (16%) of spain and 5.2M in barcelona. Before the recession in 2008 its believed that the GDP was 216€ Billion and 30€K per capita, which is in line with the UK.

It’s the economy of scales im not convinced about and how the basic services would work without massive taxes if it became a country.

Currency, Education, Police, health, Boarder control and EU membership and so on would be key to it being able to split and the cost of splitting and having to change things, like currency potentially.

Also the Spanish government could charge them for infrastructure set up that exists today, for example.

Also, its not clear how many Catalans there are and how many Spanish people there are, but for sure it would not be a popular move should it ever become a country.

The biggest potential irony is the link with Barca and the Inedependence, what league would Barca play in? The League of Spain, I doubt it? It would break the club, I think the league would survive without them!

I'd like to see Dublin made independent of the rest of Ireland.

Bollocks to the muck savages!

makes no sense and things can change. I knew the Catalans were arrogant fucks but fucking hell.

No wonder the rest of Spain hates them.

Obviously Torres wasn't fit. Well, I certainly hope he wasn't fit because he was dreadful. I suspect the only reason he got a game beyond the group stage was superstition; every time they took him off, they scored.

Fit or not, he doesn't get a pass from me (like he cares ). There has to be a line with this business of wanting to play even though you're crippled with injury. Putting yourself ahead of your Country is not something that should be admired. It's pure selfishness. There's nothing heroic about it.

If the rumours are true that Rooney played with a double hernia, he and everyone involved should be ashamed of themselves.

Winners: Xavi - after Messi, probably the player i would most want at City. I love him.
Robinho - proved the talent is very much there.
Germany - Ozil.
The 4-2-3-1 formation played by Spain, Holland and Germany. The top three.
Urugauy.
The vuvuzela.
Maradonna.
Refereeing - for the most part has been good standard.

Losers:
The ball?
Clive Tyldsley.
Ronaldo - the usual preening and diving, not backed up by much quality. Failed to make any impact in the big game against Spain.
England - Capello and the stubborn 4-4-2. It was never going to beat Germany.
All of the English players.

Robinho - proved the talent is very much there. nah-ah, as soon as the chips were down he was no where to be seen. Actually rather typical display.
Germany - Ozil. Great player.
Urugauy. Yessssss.
The vuvuzela. Fucking terrible.
Maradonna. Has moved in to Top 10 Danny's heroes.
Refereeing - for the most part has been good standard. Woefully bad, some absolute clangers of decisions and entire matches. Awful.

Whether you like the vuvuzela or not, they are clearly a winner. How many have been sold?

Completely disagree about the refereeing. I think it has been a very reasonable standard.
