I actually don't know. I know he got the last 3 from 3 though. Did they use him for every kraut match?

from: http://www.sportsuntapped.com/bet-spain-and-germany-says-paul-the-octopus-110413/

Another thing that surprised me was that Paul the Octopus is now also attempting to predict the World Cup final between Netherlands and Spain. This is the first time that Paul attempts to predict a game not involving Germany.

First out was the prediction for the game between Uruguay and Germany where Paul was considering picking Uruguay for a while before settling with a Germany victory. Seems like this is going to be a tight game according to Paul the Octopus.

A couple of minutes later it was feeding time again as the boxes has been reloaded with mussels and a Netherlands flag as well as a Spain flag. Once again our dear octopus Paul settled with eating the mussel out of the box on the right hand side which was the box featuring the Spanish flag.

So there you have it folks, Germany will win their match against Uruguay tomorrow and on Sunday Spain are going to beat Netherlands.

@Sashi

Yes you are right. It seems he is always going for the mussel the box on the right for some reason. The only time he didn’t go for the right box was in the game against England but he was coming from behind in that prediction so I suppose that’s the same as picked the box on the right.

Regards
Admin

I sat watching the final last night with a mate of mine who's a Liverpool fan.

He was getting stroppy as I was saying how shit Torres had been during the tournament, and then him pulling up at the end topped it off. :D

I think Messi has gotten a rough deal here, he had something like most passes completed in the tournament (up to their last game) and more passes completed than Rooney and Fronaldo together.

He did plenty but just didnt score. He had a good tournament.

Maybe so, but don't think he was worthy of being nominated for player of the tournament?

Agreed, he was by far one of the best players of the tournament up until the Germany game. Goals ain't everything.

this was supposed to be the tournament where one of the big players 'owned' the world cup

instead, a team of very good players (and a couple of truly excellent ones) played football in the face of extreme provocation - and i do include ndj in that - and triumphed

A shocker. Totally took his leg out, and as Bert said days ago, he has been filthy all tournament.

The only team unbeaten in 2010 WC? New Zealand. That's sure to be a pub quiz question soon enough.

It was a Red, I don’t think any of us could argue about that. The only thing I can imagine, is that an image of Gary Neville came into his head just as he was about to challenge for the ball, that would explain it.

Van Bommel has been filthy all the way through, can we sign him?
