England's 2010 World Cup campaign is about to kick off, I am sure you all want to win it however in reality, where do you actually believe you will finish?

My opinion is that this is the best England side I have seen in my lifetime but were Rooney to get injured early, you will not get a sniff of the final (or semi), he is paramount to the cause.

Quarter finals v Portugal on penalties is more than likely to happen.

We'll meet Spain/Brazil in the semi finals if we win our group and the quarter final.

Individually, they are a top, top team.

England's problem has always been gelling as a team, at least in recent years. Capello has rectified this somewhat, but we'll see if it stands up under the pressure of the World Cup.

No, not at all but it often doesnt matter. Then again, the previous winning sides of Brazil, Italians, French had few upsets on lead up to their wins.

Friendlies count for fuck all. The three we've just played were completely meaningless as an indicator of how the team will play in the tournament.

How will England do this time? I've just done a predictor spreadsheet and got us meeting the French in the quarters. That's a coin toss imo. Beat them and I've got us playing Holland/Brazil in the semis, and that's defiunitely the end of the road. Quarters will be about right. Getting to the semis would be a great achievement.

Holland aren't be anything to be afraid of, especially with Robben out and a question mark over Van Persi's fitness.

Maybe. I think they've got a few goals in them though. More than England.

Isn't van Persie fully fit again? He looked like he was playing well at the arse end of the season.

Semi Final for me, going to be interesting to see what capello does now that rio has been ruled out, I would start with Ledley King against the USA, but can he handle that many games in a short period of time ? think carragher will have a big part to play in this world cup.

no fucking chance.

argentina will win it with those players. doesn't matter what mad diego does.

i also like the four centre backs idea, it'd be funny if they win it and maradonna is hailed as some sort of genius.
