By the same token how can he justify Heskey (No goals -hardly played) over Bent (LOTS of goals - plays every week)?

Big strong bloke who will hold the ball, stop defenders getting the ball out and will set up goals for others (and nab a few himself).

Heskey will never score another goal for England.

I reckon this world cup we'll discover the answer to the question "is it fluke that England win when Heskey plays??", and by then it'll be too late.

So you're suggesting if and when England lose, you'll arbitrarily claim it will be Heskey's fault - even if he plays excellently?

Official announcement at 1500.

This is the trouble with the internet.
Sir H'alf never had this trouble.

and here we are in the Final of the 2010 world cup final, it's Argentina v England and due to the injuries picked up by Defoe and Rooney it's a strike partnership of Heskey and Crouch. :D

Obviously not, I'm suggesting Heskey will contribute very little to England's World Cup campaign.

Heskey and Rooney are the 2 from the 4 very likely to get injured.

BBC are saying this,
That would be an astonishing story. Michael Dawson, captain of Nottingham Forest when he was 19-years-old, has never played for England. Ever

Madder even than taking Walcott last time.

Course it's not, Dawson's had a fine campaign in the Prem leading Spuds to 4th. Walcott had just been signed from Southampton and hadn't played a single game in the Premiership.

The English media does my head in sometimes. Jonathan Stevenson, who is currently doing the minute-by-minute report on the squad selection, is particularly irritating today. The FA are scheduled to announce the team at 1500 today, so why do a minute-by-minute starting at 0930 speculating about who is in the final squad? Why complain that the FA are keeping the same announcement time that has been scheduled for weeks just because some journalists are spreading rumours (most of which are conflicting) about who's in and who's out? Right now, Stevenson and various reporters on Twitter are combining to create a self-sustaining frenzy of rumour and gossip which will probably prove to be wrong anyway. Stevo, just pop the kettle on and come back at 1500 when the announcement is scheduled and save yourself the stress. I'm sure we can all live another hour without knowing who is going to South Africa on England's behalf--even with you telling us how DRAMATIC and MASSIVE and BETTER THAN THE LAST DAY OF THE TRANSFER WINDOW the build-up to this announcement is.

How do you write "come back at 1500" at 1521?
