Shocking numbers imho:

There had been 3 (!!) homocides in germany, directly connected to the World Cup.

Last English World cup ref was Jack Taylor in 1974. Holland v Germany. He gave Holland a penalty before the Germans even touched the ball. Then Holland lost 2-1, if I remember correctly.
