Mario was probably going to say something stupid to his manager/fans for being benched for this match.

I flipped quickly over to Spain-Croatia, missed it live. It was quite well done.

Perhaps contributing to a national team will help mature him; Italy was a quite a different team after he came on.

So that's about it. We're out. But for the first time I'm proud and not furious about the way we played, this is what I like to see when you're playing for your nation. I'm just a little bit disappointed when I see Greece and Czech Rep. through from that ridiculous group and not us..

Also Italians pissed me off this week by writing newspapers that we will make a deal and draw 2-2 with Spain what suits both us and Spain. Nation which should be last to talk about such things. Interestingly, they didn't mentioned they are playing against Trap who is Italian and who is managing the team that is already out..if you can call that managing.

Hope to see France and England tomorrow also through although I expect a little bit more from England..

From soccernet.com

Balotelli's goal was a work of art. The 21-year-old striker acrobatically wrapped his shot around defender John O'Shea in midair, as he met a corner kick from Alessandro Diamanti.

Having started Italy's opening two matches, Balotelli replaced Antonio Di Natale in the 74th.

At the final whistle, as his teammates ran over to the bench to get the result of the Spain-Croatia match, Balotelli walked over to hug his former Manchester City teammate Given and trade shirts.

I thought Croatia played really well yesterday. Modric showed what a class act he is. Shame Croatia couldn't score, as they defended brilliantly and looked very dangerous on the counter-attack. As for the Spanish reverting to 4-6-0, what is that all about? They are dull to watch IMO.
Should the referee have given a penalty for Ramos' challenge? I think so. But it is already history.
Shame.

Noticed that - a sign of his natural class...

Not just Ramos challenge on Mandzukic.. Spanish goal was clear offside and a minute before that there was also a penalty on Corluka..

Check it.. http://www.footballtarget.com/2012/06/video-w-stark-ruled-croatsspain-1-0-croatia/

Nevertheless, I'm happy how we played through the tournament and first time that I'm not angry :) But I'm getting bored with Spanish way of playing. If I was a neutral yesterday I'm not sure how long I'd watch that.

Btw. great goal from Mario

Have to shuffle round now to fit around the Messiah.

Don't know, but when I watch them I've a feeling that something is missing. :? Killer instinct in the match, or something like that.. like Germans. :) Hope I'll change my opinion tonight, comeback against Sweden was nice for a start.. With a nation big as yours and the best league in the world expectations are always high.

What's missing is world class players. Don't expect anything from England and you won't be disappointed. We were dead and buried against Sweden until a goal keeping howler let us back into the game. We're a big nation with a great league and shit native players and a manager who can't even pick the least shit ones to represent the country. Like Germany?! doubtful mate.

I agree completely with all. First I couldn't believe when Hodgson (another McClaren to me) took over and then I couldn't believe when I saw that half of Liverpool is going to Ukraine. It's just something I always think I'll see every time I start to watch England against anyone because of that feeling "big nation, great league, they'll start to play proper football" and then I disappoint cos I think strong England is missing in international football. Keep the faith ;)
