Capello says group not easy.

Fabio Capello insists England must treat their World Cup finals opponents with respect following the draw for next summer's tournament in South Africa.

Friday's draw pitted England against USA, Algeria and Slovenia in Group C, with Capello's men avoiding a feared 'Group of Death'.

However, despite the fans' expectations of an easy passage through to the last 16, Capello is not taking anything for granted.

"I know two of the teams, we've played friendly games against the USA and Slovenia," Capello told Sky Sports News.

"People will think it's easy, but I think you have to respect all the teams.

"From my experience as a player when you have to play here it's a different pressure and a different mentality. I repeat, we have to respect the teams we have to play against."
Relaxed

England's first game of the tournament will be on Saturday 12th June against USA in Rustenburg and Capello is keen to start on a winning note.

He added: "The first game that we will play will be most difficult, but if you win the first game, the second game you play more relaxed as you know you don't need the points to qualify.

"For this reason, this is a really good moment to understand that the games that we have to play here will not be easy.

"I hope the players will stay with us, we will prepare well mentally to play this game."

England are expected to be based near Rustenburg before travelling to Cape Town and Port Elizabeth for their second and third games in the group.

Capello continued: "We play the first game and it will probably be good for us not to have to move to Rustenburg.

"We go to another city afterwards when we will play at sea level for the next two matches, one in Cape Town, the second one in Port Elizabeth.

"I have spoken with people who live here and it's really difficult.

USA may give us a good game but your not telling me Algeria or Slovenia scare us.

Algeria are very keen and have already made tremendous efforts to get to South Africa(see their playoff against Egypt). We cannot underestimate USA they beat us in the World Cup in 1950 I think, but they now have a number of Premier League players, notably Howard of Everton , Friedl, Dempsey of Fulham, Spector etc
Slovenia are no dummies, does Weiss play for them or is it Slovakia?
We should not be considering this to be a fait accompli, It is not as difficult as it might have been but it is not easy.
Random but unlikely thought, If the semi finalists are Algeria, N Korea, Spain and Brazil, will Blatter introduce seedings?

Full draw is already set out. North Korea, Brazil and Spain are all in the same half of the draw. :p

Darlo it is a hypothetical Question.
What I am saying is would Blatter et al countenance a final between 2 so called minnows.

N korea and Nz are currently around 2000-1 to win.

England appear to be 6-1 third favourites after Spain 9-2 and Brazil11-2

Teams capable of winning in England's half of the draw...

Argentina - dodgy in qualifying
Germany - OK in qualifying
France - dodgy in qualifying

In the other hald of the draw...

Brazil - pretty good in qualifying
Spain - very good in qualifying
Holland - very good in qualifying
Italy - OK in qualifying
Portugal - OK in second half of qualifying
Ivory Coast - good in qualifying

Definitely the easier side of the draw.

That's a tough group you're in there buddy. If you did get through it though you'd have to fancy your chances against england.

Not all that happy with our group.

Germany, Serbia and Ghana. Have to pick up a win against Ghana, hope for the best against Germany and go all out against Serbia. Will be interesting to say the least.

My mouse just fucked up, my rolly wheel dont work no more, bollox. Mind you I have had it for 6 years, and it was stolen from work. Cant really complain.

Well, nice one Carlitos, I also love the Ausralian team but you'll find a lot of haters on this forum and world wide. Tim Cahill I think is all you could want from a midfielder/forward, smart, quick, strong and always an eye for goal, he also plays his nuts off every match. His goalscoring this season is down but he will rebound, he is in a SHIT team at everton.

Kewell, also widely hated but I cannot complain about when he plays for Oz, always good.

The rest of our team, besides Schwarzer, are decidely ordinary. We do work as a team though.

From about 4 weeks ago, David Carney goal v Ireland. Excellent.
