They could have got Trevor Rabin.

Or Eugene Terreblanche

And... Spain will draw one of this group in the next round. England have no excuse not to make the quarter-finals. They should finish top, and assuming Germany finish top of their group, should comfortably reach the quarters (after beating either Australia or Ghana).

As long as we end up with
Brazil v Argentina
England v Argentina
Holland v Germany
Italy v France
France v Algeria
USA v Mexico

etc etc etc

We need a few games in the later rounds that will have some fucking fireworks!

Spain, Honduras, Chile and Swizerland ... Easy group but we'll match against Portugal, Brazil or Cote D'Ivore in 8/4.

It doesn't matter who you play , you still have to win.

Writing off Serbia? Finished ahead of France in qualifying.

Algeria are very keen and have already made tremendous efforts to get to South Africa(see their playoff against Egypt). We cannot underestimate USA they beat us in the World Cup in 1950 I think, but they now have a number of Premier League players, notably Howard of Everton , Friedl, Dempsey of Fulham, Spector etc
Slovenia are no dummies, does Weiss play for them or is it Slovakia?
We should not be considering this to be a fait accompli, It is not as difficult as it might have been but it is not easy.
Random but unlikely thought, If the semi finalists are Algeria, N Korea, Spain and Brazil, will Blatter introduce seedings?

England and Spain got the softest draw possible.

Porto v Brail....oooooh.

Oz v krauts, serbs and ghana, could be worse.

Dutch got a good draw too.

Not sure of group of death yet, possibly Brazil.
