Should be. Need a lot to go wrong to fall under the blue line at the end of the next and last UEFA group match day.

Yeah, we are deffo in the playoffs, could be a tough pair of matches though judging by some of the teams who could be there.

Good work!

Ireland in the playoffs apparently. No chance of being worse placed second no matter how other results go.... or so I'm told. Haven't fully checked it myself.

It'll be difficult now for ROI with FIFA introducing the seedings in the play-offs.

Making the rules up as they go along so they can have the "big" nations at the World Cup.

Disgraceful.

Yep, it is. It's not surprising but in one sense.... It is. FIFA'$ agenda seems in direct opposition to UEFA's attitude / approach to European club Football. Then again, it is the FIFA World Cup.

This is probably the way it'll look. I'm assuming a couple of results like Portugal to beat Malta etc.

Pot 1: Russia, France, Portugal, Greece
Pot 2: Ireland, Slovakia, Ukraine, Bosnia

Greece is the best Ireland can hope for. I'd actually rather face France or Portugal than Russia.

IF we draw France that would mean we had to better the two finalists from Germany 2006 to "deserve" a place in South Africa.

Wouldn't fancy it against the Russians. They were superior to Germany yesterday and then Germany got reduced to 10 men. An extremely lucky result for Germany.

Watched the second half of that match. It certainly looked that way.

Russia's incredible unbeaten record at home finally broken.

How are they seeding it? By world rankings or by performance in the group stages?

It is very dodgy that world rankings will be used to seed the teams. This wouldn't have happened if France had won their group.

Or Portugal.

It's a fucking disgrace. It wouldn't be so bad if FIFA had made that clear at the start of the competition. It would still be shite, but not as obviously dodgy.

I hate FIFA and UEFA. Can't stand either of them, or their presidents.

I've a feeling the 50/50's and maybe even some dodgy decisions will be going against anyone up against France, Portugal and Russia. It's no secret now that Fifa desperately want there.

Besides, Nike wouldn't be too pleased either if "CR9" didn't make the trip.

As I said before, the draw will probably look something like this

Pot 1: Russia, France, Portugal, Greece
Pot 2: Ireland, Ukraine, Bosnia, Slovakia/Slovenia

I have a slightly outlandish conspiracy theory -
It'll be fixed so Greece plays Ukraine.

Fifa won't want Russia, France, or Portugal playing that lot. Not to discredit the other teams in pot 2, none of them would be a walk in the park. I just think over 2 legs they're probably the biggest potential banana skin.

I wonder if I can put money on it....
