As I hate Italians vehemently I hope you give them a right c^nting in their collective bastard. If there is a way to do it by cheating, Italians will know the way.

We have an Italian manager - Trapper Tony. Maybe he can show us as it is against our nature to cheat.

Danny is vindicated.

Quote:

Cannavaro in failed doping test

Fabio Cannavaro has failed a doping test after taking a medicine containing banned substance cortisone.

Cannavaro, who took the medicine in August, had sought an exemption, claiming he was treating a wasp sting.

However, the Juventus defender's application was missing documentation and, while awaiting a decision, he was subsequently tested.

Juventus have said the medicine was indispensable to "prevent eventual complications, even lethal ones".

The statement on the club's website added: "[We acted] within health procedures and [moral] rules, intervening in an urgent manner following the worsening of the clinical condition following the sting by an insect.

"The player and the medical staff of Juventus will be at the disposal of the [anti-doping committee] to clarify this issue."

Cannavaro is set to be interviewed by the Italian Olympic Committee's (Coni) anti-doping prosecutor Etorre Torri on Friday.

The 36-year-old, Italy's most capped player and captain during their 2006 World Cup triumph, is currently on international duty as his side aim to seal qualification for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

He is expected to return to lead the side against Cyprus next Wednesday.

He will be missing from Saturday's key World Cup qualifier match against the Republic of Ireland due to a prior suspension.

The Irish line-up

Shay Given

John O'Shea
Richard Dunne
Sean St Ledger
Kevin Kilbane

Liam Lawrence
Glenn Whelan
Keith Andrews
Aiden McGeady

Kevin Doyle
Robbie Keane.

Given Duff's absence I'm a little surprised to see Lawrence start instead of Hunt. Hunt was probably man of the match against them in Bari.

Lawrence >>> Hunt

Though I don't know how he is Irish.

It just seems a tad unfair. Hunt has done pretty well in this campaign, and had a good start to the season with hulll.... Lawrence comes in and scores a free kick in a nothing friendly against South Africa and all of the sudden he's in the starting 11?

In fairness I think Hunt always plays much better coming off the bench. So it's not the end of the world.

I like Hunt, I think he's JUST as good as Lawrence. Just working their strengths against Italy's weakness' is the main idea.

I kind of have a soft spot for the Italian's. Everyone seems to hate them.

Sometimes they do actually play great football but it just gets dismissed.

Just watch their two goals from their last match against Bulgaria.

Pure class.

I have a liking for them, but with such talented players they employ a negative style. and this drives me mad every time. in the last world cup, the only time they bothered playing properly was in the semi-final against the germans and then returned to type in the final.
