Good performance losing 2-0 is the basic summary, awful moments for terry and Barry, Lampards gone close a couple of times and so has Rooney, everybody hates him on here but Beckham yet again has shown he is good enough to mix it with the best, De Jong playing well but handled it in the area clearly. This game isn't over

Barry was playing great until then! De Jong is enjoying a good night too.

I am glad to hear this. I think i've said a few times that the jury is still out for me. Not that i don't think he will be brilliant, it's just we paid a lot of money and i've not seen enough to justify it yet. However, plenty of mitigating circumstances too. Injured for six months before being thrown into his debut a week after signing for us etc.

I would like to see great things from him this season. I think we probably will, but for me atm it's Zabs and Kompany above him for midfield slot.

Why?

Been playing OK I thought, 2 sloppy gifty goals.

Because i only really begin to give a shit at major tournaments. Naturally, i would always prefer England to win, but i take no great hurt from their losses. If we win the World Cup and i celebrate that i'll probably feel a bit gloryhunterish. I know it's different with internationals but still, it might seem a bit fair-weather supporterish.

Ah that's ok. It's a birthright. Not that I think we'll win the world cup for a long time.

FTR I agree about De Jong a bit, but I do think he's going to be awesome this season. That might be the wrong word given his job. Maybe not awesome, maybe incredibly important. And a bit awesome. :D

This Dutch side doesn't really seem to have a creative midfielder to pass the ball around. Interesting way of playing, not much possesion.

Is he?

Why wouldn't he be? He's a good player.

I think England could go on to win this... 2-2 but we are playing a lot better than the first half. 8 mins + stoppage time...
