No need for sarcasm. I'm just saying, I don't believe Elano is happy waiting for an injury so he can play a game.

Problem is, in a team with Robinho, Tevez, Ireland, Barry and SWP, there is no place for Elano.

Maybe not a starting place no. Good to have to come off the bench though. And there's always injuries and suspensions.

Having said that though. If Elano can be consistently as good as he was in a handful of games towards the end of last season, I could see him keeping SWP out of the side.

Agreed but there's no place for sweep in the starting lineup either on face value, and s I said, I don't think Elano is happy playing second fiddle.

Don't get me wrong, I want Elano to stay.

My stance on Elano changes day to day. If he'd keep his mouth shut, head down, and take his chance when it comes, I'd be happy for him to stay. But that ain't gonna happen.

No im not.
I mentioned it in my post, while Elano would be better with better players around him I was assured players like Ireland would be even better.
Then you come from nowhere to tell me there is no place for Elano in such a team, when I already made it clear myself.
E: yea, I didnt use exact these words, but its kind of logical

I offered you my opinion. You chose to be sarcastic. That was unnecessary. I merely suggested that I could not see Hughes finding a place for Elano if we sign Tevez. I think that's a stone-cold fact. No way is Hughes going to leave Ireland, Barry, Tevez or Robinho out for Elano.

Yay. Seriously though, I want to keep him and I agree that we would be a better team with him in the squad and he offers something we don't otherwise have, but I'm really not sure Elano would be happy with that.

But that's what we need. Players who aren't happy being left out, but, (and this is where Elano falls down) who accept it and aim to take their chance when it comes.

What about Tevez then? His time at united showed he's not prepared to play for a club where he's not guaranteed a starting birth, even though he started more games than Berbatov and Rooney in the last half of the season. Make him the one player you don't rotate?

That's the difference though. Tevez said nothing till his contract was up and then refused to sign a new one, which is fair enough. Elano is saying he wants to be sold half way through a contract.

He's said he would have signed 6 months ago. I think he was more pissed off with the contract not being sorted than anything else.

Technically, he's said that he wants to know if he's still in Hughes' plans with all the spending, and if he's not then Inter(?) would be an interesting move for him, not that he wants to be sold as such. But he could have been more vocal about wanting to stay and be part of the team, if that's the case.
